We seek to create a more cohesive, equitable and flourishing society and economy.

We are both ambitious and realistic. We know that we cannot do everything, but by creating positive social impact at a local level we can demonstrate what is possible and thereby influence national best practice and policy.

We will fulfil our ambition by working towards the following long-term outcomes:

• Improved life-chances, living standards, health and social mobility for disadvantaged individuals, families and communities

• Those individuals, families and communities will have a greater sense of equity/stake in society

• They will be able, and will be seen to be able, to make a contribution to society

• There will be an increased stock of social capital, including:

  • Greater equality of access to:

    • Opportunities to fulfil potential

    • Education

    • Housing

    • Employment/income

  • Increased levels of trust and trustworthiness throughout society

  • Stronger connections between socio-economic groups.
